MP HC Directs Fresh Compensation For Indira Sagar Dam Oustees 1/17/2009 The Madhya Pradesh High Court directed the state government and Grievance Redressal Authority (GRA) to hear compensation claim cases of the oustees of Indira Sagar Dam, on river Narmada in Khandwa, afresh. Hearing a petition filed by Narmada Bachao Andolan, a division bench comprising Chief Justice A K Patnaik and Justice Pankaj Jaiswal quashed compensation previously granted by the GRA to the oustees. The petition had challenged non-payment of compensation to 72 oustee families and providing inadequate land in lieu of the land acquired by the government. UNI
