BOMBAY HC REJECTED ADAN SAMI'S WIFE PETITION Dated:18-02-2009 Source: UNI MUMBAI: Bombay High Court rejected a petition filed by Pakistani singer Adnan Sami’s wife, seeking an order to restrain him from entering the flats she claims to own. While rejecting the petition, Justice A V Nirgude in his order asked petitioner Saba Adnan Sami Khan to approach the family court in this regard. Saba, in her petition, contended that the couple’s marriage is in trouble and a divorce petition has been filed in the family court at Bandra in southern suburbs. She said Adnan had gifted her five flats at Oberoi Sky Garden in suburban Andheri after they got married in April 2007. Besides, two other flats in the same building were mortgaged to her by Adnan, she claims. She has filed a case that Adnan was treating her with ‘cruelty’, and therefore she wants a directive from the court restraining Adnan and his parents from entering the flats owned by her. ‘Adnan can shift to his own residence in Ankita Apartments in Lokhandwala in Andheri,’ she told the court. Saba also wants a declaration from the court that these flats belong to her. Saba alleged in her petition that Adnan drinks heavily, plays loud music, there is no ‘communication’ between the couple and that he has ‘made her life miserable’. Saba has also alleged that Adnan used to abuse her physically.
