J &K Law Dept Seeks Public Opinion On Revised RTI Bill Dated : 21-02-2009 Source : UNI Jammu : TEXT : Jammu and Kashmir Law Department has appealed people to peruse the Draft Legislation of the Bill, proposed to repeal and replace the J&K Right to Information (Amendment) Act, 2008, by a comprehensive legislation at par with the Central Act. The Law department has appealed people to give suggestions to make the proposed legislation more effective, more transparent and people-friendly. The Draft Bill is available on the website of the General Administration Department www.jkgad.nic.in. The suggestion could be furnished to the Law Department for consideration of the Government within a period of seven days, beginning from today, an official statement said. The State Cabinet had yesterday decided to bring the state law at par with the Central Act. UNI
