Kumar Prasad took oath as new Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeshwar administered the oath at 1030 hrs. Born on July 15, 1949, Mr Prasad got registered as advocate in 1973. He became senior advocate on July 14, 1989 and took oath as permanent Justice of the Patna High Court on November 8, 1994. In the same year, he was transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court. In 2001, he again joined the Patna High Court and was made acting Chief Justice there last year on March 3. He has taken degrees in law and science. In the oath ceremony, former advocate general and BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra, advocate general Jyotindra Mishra, chief standing counsel M C Chaturvedi, administrative D R Chaudhary were also present.
