Journalist Anirudh Bahal, who had carried out a sting operation on 11 former MPs for allegedly taking cash for asking questions in Parliament in 2005, filed a petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the police chargesheet, which reflected him as accused and not as a witness.

Bahal has challenged the trial court order, which summoned him along with other MP's accused of taking the bribe in the cash-for-query scam.

Taking cognisance of the petition, Justice G S Sistani issued a notice to the Delhi Police and asked them to reply by September 15.

The Court, exempted Bahal from appearing before the trial court on August 20 along with other 11 accused MPs.

Bahal stated that the police has wrongly filed the chargesheet against him as the FIR registered is against the corrupt MP's and he cannot be made an accused in the case as he conducted the sting operation to prove the scam.

Bahal said he should have been made witnesses in the case and not an accused.
