Madras High Court Judge K N Basha refused to hear further an anticipatory bail petition filed by Puthiya Tamizhagam (PT) founder K Krishnasway and 11 others.

When the case came up for hearing on the second day before Justice Basha, he did not specify the reason for his disinclination to hear the case any further and directed the Registry to post the matter before some other bench with the permission of the Chief Justice.

The judge had adjourned the hearing from yesterday to today and directed the Government Pleader to file his counter.

In the petition, Dr Krishnaswamy and others submitted that they were not involved in the alleged attack on Sri Lankan High Commission office at New Delhi on October 2.

A police team from New Delhi arrived in the city yesterday to arrest them in connection with the attack.

As many as 40 activists reportedly protested before the High Commission for the Lankan Navy’s alleged attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen in the Palk Strait.

They also demanded the return of Kachchatheevu to India.

Dr Krishnaswami, however, denied the involvement of his partymen in the attack on the High Commission office.
