Workshop on RTI Act Implementation

NTPC Limited organized a Workshop on Implementation of RTI Act in PSUs in New Delhi today. Public Information Officers (PIO) from different Public Sector Undertakings namely ONGC, MMTC, CIL, BHEL and Powergrid were present to discuss and share their views on current RTI scenario. During the workshop, issues related to proper implementation of the RTI Act were also discussed and a presentation made on SAIL’s experience in implementation of RTI Act 2005.

“A Practical Handbook on Right to Information Act-2005” written by Shri S.R.Khaneja was released by Shri R.S.Sharma, CMD, NTPC Limited on the occasion. Shri Khaneja is an eminent consultant on Vigilance Management. The book covers details of RTI Acts of various States; it also presents analytical study of various cases, landmark judgements. It takes you through five year journey of the Act its achievement and deficiencies which can be very useful for PIOs for practical usage. The foreword of the book has been written by CMD, NTPC.
