Prashant Chavan is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India of the 1986 batch. He is an associate member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. being on the Board of Governors of its India Chapter from 1990 to 1992, and he is an associate member of the Information Systems Audit & Control Association, both located in Florida, USA. He is an ISO qualified Lead Auditor from the Asian Institute of Quality Management, Pune.

Mr. Chavan specializes in Risk Assurance – Internal Audit and Systems Development.

Prior to professional practice, he served in the industry for 20 years with Companies of repute, both in India and overseas; leading amongst them being the best in the health care industry in India - Wockhardt Limited, Mumbai. 

Mr. Chavan is associated with professional practice since the past 5 years. He has lead a team of qualified and semi-qualified professionals and audit assistants on various Risk Assurance assignments including Mahavitaran – the largest power distribution company in Maharashtra; and he was involved in the successful empanelment of his firm with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), New Delhi. He was also instrumental in conducting the due diligence assignment for Watson Inc., and the distribution logistics audit assignment for Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited to cover their Western Regional Office and CFA operations at Bhiwandi.

Mr. Chavan is an avid cricket and volleyball enthusiast and a speaker at several social welfare forums in Mumbai. He writes articles on topics of varied interest on www.in.msn.com under the user name cric8 and he regularly comments to articles appearing in The Times of India.
