I work in the field of wildlife conservation but would not really call myself a wildlife conservationist.  My focus is on illegal wildlife trade, hunting and therefore try to understand the investigations, wildlife laws and criminal procedures.  I try to understand what our laws prescribe and how the investigation process works and why the the conviction rate of wildlife crime cases are so abysmal. I try to assess what is ailing and prepare capacity building programmes accordingly for both forest and police departments.
