Section : Application of forfeited deposits.

2. Application of forfeited deposits.--Any such forfeited deposit shall be applied to defray the expenses of the sale, and the surplus shall be forfeited to Government. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Short title given by the Amending Act, 1897 (5 of 1897), s. 4 and Sch. III> The Act has been declared, by notification under the Scheduled Districts Act, 1874 (14 of 1874), s. 3 to be in frce in the Districts of Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Palamau and Manbhum and Pargana Dhalbhum and the Kolhan in the District of Singhbhum in the Chota Nagpur Division, see Gazette of India, 1881, Pt. I, p. 504. The Act has also been declared to be in force in the Sonthal Parganas by the Sonthal Parganas Settlement Regulation, 1872 (3 of 1872), s. 3 (1) and Sch. 2.
