Section : Constitution of the Force.

3. Constitution of the Force. (1) There shall be constituted and maintained by the Central Government 6*[an armed force of the Union] to be called the Railway Protection Force for the better protection and security of railway property. (2) The Force shall be constituted in such manner, shall consist of such number of 6*[superior officers, subordinate officers, under officers and other enrolled members] of the Force and shall receive such pay and other remuneration as may be prescribed. Extended to and brought into force in Dadar and Nagar Haveli (w.e.f. 1-7-65) by Reg. 6 of 1963, s. 2 and Sch. The Act comes into force in Pondicherry on 1.10.1963 in vide Reg.7 of 1963, s. 3 and Sch. I.
