Section : Construction of references to repealed enactments.

8. Construction of references to repealed enactments.- 1*[(1)2*Where this Act, or any 3*[Central Act] or Regulation made after thecommencement of this Act, repeals and re-enacts, with or withoutmodification, any provision of a former enactment, then references inany other enactment or in any instrument to the provision so repealedshall, unless a different intention appears, be construed asreferences to the provision so re-enacted. 4*[(2) 5*[Where before the fifteenth day of August, 1947, any Actof Parliament of the United Kingdom repealed and re-enacted], with orwithout modification, any provision of a former enactment, thenreferences in any 3*[Central Act] or in any Regulation or instrumentto the provision so repealed shall, unless a different intentionappears, be construed as references to the provision so re-enacted.]
