Definition.
4. Definition.-In the Schedule the expression "recognised Chamberof Commerce" means a Chamber of Commerce recognised by the Governmentof its country as being competent to issue certificates of origin, andincludes any other association similarly recognised.----------------------------------------------------------------------The Act has been extended to the Union territory of Pondicherry by Act26 of 1968, S. 3 and Schedule and also to the Union Territory of theLaccadive, Minicoy and Amindivi Islands (w.e.f. 15.10.1970), videReg. 2 of 1970, s. 2 & Sch.1. This Act has been applied to the Darjeeling district, w.e.f. the 8th February, 1940, by the late Bengal Government Notification No. 361-J., dated the 31st January, 1940.2.
