23. Effect of Act in respect of Regulations therein mentioned,and of buildings of antiquity, etc.--Nothing in this Act shall be heldto affect the provisions the 4*Regulations mentioned in this Act,except in so far as they relate to mosques, Hindu temples and otherreligious establishments; or to prevent the Government from takingsuch steps as it may deem necessary, under the provisions of the saidregulations, to prevent injury to and preserve buildings 5*remarkable for their antiquity, or for their historical orarchitectural value, or required for the convenience of the public 6*.
