Section : Extend of Act.

17.Extent of Act.-This Act shall in the first instance extend only to the 2territories under the government of the Lieutenant- Governor of the North-Western Provinces of the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal. Power to State Government to extend this Act.-But it shall be lawful for the State Government, by notification in the Official Gazette, to 3-extend this Act, mutatis mutandis, to any other part of 4[the territories under its government], except the towns of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay 5 * * *.
