Section : Filling up of tank, etc.

137. Filling up of tank, etc.- (1) Where any well, tank, cistern, reservoir container, desert cooler or any other, receptacle or place in the cantonment where water is stored or accumulated, whether within any private enclosure or not, is in such a condition as to create a nuisance or, in the opinion of the Health Officer, is or is likely to be a breeding place for mosquitoes, the Board may, by notice in writing, require the owner, lessee or occupier thereof within such period as may be specified in the notice, to fill up or cover the well, cistern, reservoir or receptacle, or to fill up the tank, or to drain off or remove the water, as the case may be.(2) The Board may from time to time take such measures as are necessary in its opinion for prevention of breeding of mosquitoes, insects or any bacterial or viral carriers of disease in public places under the control or management of the Board.(3) The Board may, if it thinks fit, meet the whole or any portion of the expenses incurred in execution of work mentioned in sub-sections (1) and (2) of this section.
