Section : Obligation to render assistance to persons in danger.

1*[355A. Obligation to render assistance to persons in danger. (1) The master of every Indian ship shall render assistance to every person found at sea in danger of being lost, unless he is unable or, in the special circumstances of the case, considers that such assistance cannot be rendered without serious danger to his ship, or the persons thereon. (2) If the master of an Indian ship is unable or considers it unreasonable to go to the assistance of a person found at sea in danger of being lost, the master shall forthwith cause a statement to be entered in the official log book or, if there is no official log book, cause other record to be kept of his reasons for not going to the assistance of that person.] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.
