Section : Penalty for disobeying prohibition.

6. Penalty for disobeying prohibition.-Whoever after the notification of any such order- (a) takes part in the performance prohibited thereby or in any performance substantially the same as the performance so prohibited, or (b)in any manner assists in conducting any such performance, or (c) is, in wilful disobedience to such order, present as a spectator during the whole or any part of any such performance, or ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. This Act has been rep. in it application to Madras by Mad. Act 33 of 1954, in Andhra Pradesh by Andhra Pradesh Act 8 of 1956, in Madhya Pradesh by Madhya Pradesh Act 11 of 1901 and in Andaman and Nicobar Islands by Reg. IO of 1962. It has been repealed in the Union territory of Delhi on the extension of Madras Act 33 of 1954 to Delhi by Notification No. G.S.R. 850, dated 6-6-1964. The Act has been amended in Punjab by Punjab Act 48 of 1956. 2.Subs. by the Adaptation of Laws (No. 2) Order, 1956, for "Part B States". 3.The words "And it shall come into force at once"rep. by Act 10 of 1914, s. 3 and Sch. II. 4.Subs. by the A. O. 1948, for "British India or British Burma". 5.The words "and Rangoon" rep. by the A. O. 1937. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 323 (d) being the owner or occupier. or having the use, of any house, room or place, opens, keeps or uses the same for any such performance, or permits the same to be opened, kept or used for any such performance, shall be punishable on conviction before a Magistrate with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine, or with both.
