Section : Provident fund.

57. Provident fund. (1) The liability of the existing State of Punjab in respect of the provident fund account of a Government servant in service on the appointed day shall, on and from that day, be the liability of the successor State to which that Government servant is permanently allotted. (2) The liability of the existing State of Punjab in respect of the provident fund account of a Government servant who has retired from service before the appointed day shall be the liability of the State of Punjab in the first instance and shall be adjusted between the successor States according to the population ratio.
