Section : Short title and extent.

THE CONTINUANCE OF LEGAL PROCEEDINGS ACT, 1948 ACT NO. 38 OF 1948 1* An Act to provide for the continuance of certain legal proceedings by or against the Secretary of State. [3rd September, 1948.] WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the continuance of certain legal proceedings by or against the Secretary of State in respect of any right of India or any part of India which were pending immediately before the 15th day of August, 1947; It is hereby enacted as follows:- 1. Short title and extent.-(1) This Act may be called the Continuance of Legal Proceedings Act, 1948. (2) It extends to 2*[the whole of India except 3*[the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States.]]
