Section : Short title, commencement and application.

THE GOVERNMENT SAVINGS CERTIFICATES ACT, 1959 ACT NO. 46 OF 1959 1* [18th September, 1959.] An Act to make certain provisions in respect of Government Savings Certificates. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.Short title, commencement and application. (1) This Act may be called the Government Savings Certificates Act, 1959. (2) It shall come into force on such date2* as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. (3) It applies to such class of savings certificates as the Central Government may, by notification3* in the Official Gazette, specify in this behalf.
