Section : Short title, extent and commencement.

1. Short title, extent and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Sugar-cane Act, 1934. 2*[(2) It extends to the whole of India, except 3*[the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States].] (3) This section shall come into force at once; the remaining sections of this Act shall come into force in any State 4*[or part of a State] on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in that behalf.
