THE DISTURBED AREAS (SPECIAL COURTS) ACT, 1976 ACT NO. 77 OF 1976 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE SPEEDY TRIAL OF CERTAIN OFFE NCES INCERTAIN AREA [11-6-1976.] BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.Short title, extent and commencement.(1) This Act may be called the Disturbed Areas (Special Courts) Act, 1976. (2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different States or for different parts thereof.
