Section : ACT NOT TO OVERRIDE STATE LAWS
SECTION 31: ACT NOT TO OVERRIDE STATE LAWS
2- (1) If, immediately before the commencement of this Act, there is in force in any State any Provincial Act or State Act relating to the settlement or adjudication of disputes, the operation of such an Act in that State in relation to matters covered by that Act shall not be affected bythe Industrial Disputes Act, 1947-, as amended by this Act.
(2) For the removal of doubts it is hereby declared that nothing in this section shall be deemed to preclude the Central Government or the National Tribunal from exercising any powers conferred on it bythe Industrial Disputes Act, 1947-, as amended by this Act.
