Section : Contraventions of sections 16, 17 and 18

36. Contraventions of sections 16, 17 and 18. (1) Any registered owner who contravenes the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 16, or section 17 or section 18, any licensed curer 3*[or dealer] who contravenes the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 16, 4*** shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Ins. by Act 34 of 1949, s. 2. 2 Added by Act 7 of 1943, s. 12. 3 Ins. by Act 2 of 1944, s. 3. 4 Certain words omitted by Act 48 of 1961, s. 11 (w.e.f. 19-4-1962) 29 (2) When a registered owner is convicted under this section, the Board may thereafter deduct from any payment to be made under section 34 to such registered owner a sum equal to the value as estimated by the Board of any coffee unlawfully sold by him.
