26. Limitation and previous sanction for prosecutions. Noprosecution for an offence made punishable by or under this Act shallbe instituted except within 2*[twenty-four months] from the date ofthe commission of the offence, and no such prosecution shall beinstituted without the previous sanction of the Chief Inspector.
