An Act to provide for the administration of the National Library and certain other connected matters. Be enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT

(1) This Act may be called the National Library of India Act, 1976.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
