1. Short title. Local extent, commencement and operation.-ThisAct may be called the 4*** Majority Act, 1875. 5*[It extends to the whole of India 6*[except the State of Jammuand Kashmir]]; and it shall come into force and have effect only on theexpiration of three months from the passing thereof.
