SECTION 40: STATE GOVERNMENT MAY CONFER POWERS OF POLICE OFFICER

The19[State Government] may, if it thinks fit, confer on any person any of the powers which may be exercised by a Police officer under any Act for the time being in force,20[and may withdraw any powers so conferred].
