Bar Council of India's notification dated 29.10.2014 suggests to implement the Certificate of Practice and Renewal Rules 2014, to find out how many enrolled Advocates are really practicing law.
If implemented, every State Bar Council will have to prepare a list of Advocates in practice and a list of non-practicing advocates who may join advocacy as per their convenience. This will definitely lessen the crowd and will improve the quality of lawyering in India. Let's see how it takes shape.
