LICENCES FOR HALLMARKING OF GOLD JEWELLERY GRANTED BY BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS ARE ILLEGAL

Description:

It is alleged that the licences issued by Bureau of Indian Standards under Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 for hallmarking of gold jewellery are illegal. This allegation is based on the information received under RTI Act from the Govrnment and BIS. This allegation has been referred to the Government of India as well as Bureau of Indian Standards a number of times but they do not respond. #doc
