CNN Anchor Dana Bash’s ex-husband Jeremy Bash was one of the 51 former intelligence officials who signed a letter suggesting that Hunter Biden’s laptop, which became a focal point of controversy especially around the 2020 U.S. presidential election, had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
This statement was made despite many of these officials not having directly examined the laptop’s contents themselves. Dana Bash and Jeremy Bash have previously contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Biden and Kamala Harris.
Jeremy Bash’s Involvement:
Jeremy Bash, with his background in intelligence and as a former Chief of Staff at the CIA, was part of this group of officials. His signature on the letter was significant due to his credentials, which might have lent the letter additional credibility in some circles.
However, this letter has been criticized for potentially misleading the public, especially given the timing just before the election.
CIA and Contractors:
It was revealed that some of these signatories, including potentially Bash, were CIA contractors at the time they signed the letter. This raised questions about conflicts of interest and the CIA’s involvement or knowledge of the letter’s content, which could imply an attempt to influence public perception regarding the laptop’s authenticity.
