Consequences of hiding current government job employment?

Sir,
I have to fill an online application for a job vacancy of a lower grade pay in State Government. In the application, employment details are asked and a Government servant (central or state) is required to produce NOC at the time of interview. It being a lower grade pay, I am afraid my current Central Government department will deny NOC to me.
Hence, I plan to not mention about my current Government job details in the said application and on being selected for the state government job, plan to give simple resignation in my Department with the understanding that I will forego my service benefits. My query is, what will be the consequences of this? Will I be penalized if my new Department later finds out about my employment history? And what will happen to my PRAN Number. Will police verification be an issue? Respected experts may give their kind opinion in this regard.

Instead of benefit you will have to face damages (unforeseen) if you conceal and selected/appointed in new assignment.It is better to disclose.

Apply through proper channel and tender techni8cal resignation and you will enjoy pay -protection.. During Police verification the true state of facts will certainly come out and you will be taken disciplinary action for suppression of material facts.

In the instant case, the instructions as to applications to posts advertised by UPSC, SSC would be relevant. In such cases, applications could be sent directly by the employee under intimation to the Head of Office giving all the particulars and requesting the HoD to communicate the permission directly. If the HoD considers it necessary to withhold permission, this should be intimated to the recruiting body within 45 days of the receipt of application. If no intimation is conveyed, permission will be presumed.

The querist may also note that, as per the extant instructions, applications from employees could be withheld only on public interest and, in my considered view, if the employee applies for a lower post, it is in his own interest and hence, there cannot be any public interest, in the ordinary course, in withholding such an application.

I may hasten to add that it is not at all advantageous withhold or suppress information while in public service. It can only benefit in losing self confidence and in being a prisoner of fear.
