Rail Budget 2010

Rail budget is a populist one with lots of promises, which must be fulfilled. In every Rail budget   a brief note should be made public by having a Para in the Railway Minister’s budget speech about fulfillment of promises / provisions made in the last budget so that public can know that  it is not just a politicians rail budget!

Aam aadmi wish to travel in Rail like walk in interviews-go to station buy ticket and travel –so much availability of tickets for all travelling is most desired. There should be enough trains to offset heavy rush of passengers. Can any Railway Minister do so?

This year too it has proposed many good points, but how far it shall be strictly implanted in time is another question. Every year it is felt that more of the one State is benefitted from the State our Railway Minister belongs or with an eye to forthcoming State elections. Therefore, every year there should be either Railway Minister from different States or main focus on the  different States every year and emphasis should be on  backward States for more rail connections from different States of India so that they too can develop economically. Once State is developed there is always lesser or crimes.

Although many new trains are introduced and some extended etc but there are very few which connect Saurashtra (especially Rajkot-there is no Rajdhani / Shatabadi /Garib Rath), in Gujarat, to other places, like Delhi for example.

Safety of passengers and convenient travelling is a must for those adequate strict measures must be taken -to stop hundred percent of unauthorized passengers including higher class as one finds many of such passengers now a days; stoppage of passengers travelling on roof of coaches.

Strict measure are required for cleanliness and rules implementation like one finds even passengers  drinking alcohol  in the compartment etc

More of availability of Tickets must be made available on short notice like Tatkal without hefty charges.

Passengers must be encouraged to book their heavy luggage in luggage van for that even concession in rail ticket can be offered! It shall than lead to more comfortable journey for all passengers.

Pantry car must be compulsory for all trains with overnight journeys. All items sold during the journey must be with menu cars shown to passengers and charged accordingly as often over charging takes place for it.
The railways can also introduce their own taxis/autos.
