A quick legal advice needed on a real fraud

Hi

I just discovered that I took a 3rd party insurance on my car a couple of months back through a agent on quikr/olx.

I deposited 1700/- Rs in his account through NEFT and he also sent me a scanned copy and hard copy through courier of the policy.

I showed the insurance company to the insurance company a couple of months after and they told me that the insurance copy I sent them is Fake!

As everything happened on phone and email I just wanted to know if I should proceed against him legally and file a FIR?

Look at this Ad, he is the culprit - https://www.help24.in/addetailpage.php?ta=Njc1MQ==&aaaa=KAUSHAL-KISHOR-SHARMA

take reply letter from the concenred insurance company that it is fake. You can file a cheating case with police, or criminal courts directly with the magistrate.

So you got the hard copy through courier? You should know from where the copy was sent. If the sender authority isn't genuine then it might be fake.

The insurance company said Fake? Check whether it is genuine or fake in the insurance company's local branch (or your reachable area's) office.

If it's fake then you have no choice. You paid Rs 1700 for a car insurance - even if it was genuine it's third party insurance.

Moreover, insurance isn't a thing you should go through OLX kinda service. If you have car, then you have an insurance company's authorized branch office in your locality. Instead of doing in authorized branch office, you went for OLX service.

OLX isn't authorized by your insurance company for your insurance - hence your concerned insurance company can't take any liability done through OLX.

You can file a police complain in your local Police Station with proof of your payment and rest other documents. If police does something then ok. But who knows our police! :)
