Adoption

My friend's daughter has cognitive issues and will be 21 yr old soon . He had been advised to become her guardian for which he need a judge to declare her intellectually incompetent. What is the procedure ? Does the medical certificate have to be from a government hospital or can her long term psychiatrist give it?

Yes medical certificate from govt.hospital is best to support your case(specially report sign by MO).To apply certificate first go to your MO in your area,then he will check patient and make a report to support the condition of the patient.

Then submit to court to get proper authority for guardianship.But keep in mind that there are different law relating to adoption and guardianship,Hindu law,Muslim Law,Parsis and christian law.

So go with details to the lawyer(local) to get best legal support.
