Can i file criminal complaint long after discovery of crime?

An agent of a leading insurance firm forged signture of my father in a life insurance policy and made it for 20 years instead of three. Complaint with the company and then with Insurance Ombudsman did not provide relief we sought.

Can we now file a criminal complaint long after the discovery of forgery? We don't wish to take the case to consumer court.

Sir,

Yes you have all rights to file a complaint, but how would you justify that you have discovered the fact after such a long period.

Thanks Kapil. Can't we argue that we gave the company the opportunity to take action and provide relief through our complaint to them and to ombudsman... only when they failed to act despite our long wait that we decided to proceed with the criminal complaint?
