In this situation please rush to a lawyer, expert in recovery cases along with the copy of e-payment that you have made to your contractor, along with all transaction bills which you have regarding that payment !!

Had you replied to the notice given by the complainant to you. If you have documentary evidence for making the payment of the cheque amount, then contest the case.
