land marking

i am mrs manisha tokekar from pune. i purchased a plot in 1989 from an agent who was given a power of attorney by the family of 7-8 siblings who owned the plot. however subsequently the land was disputed due one of the family members(lady) claiming of not getting her dues. we only had a index 2. there was no 7/12 for the said plot, as the agent who sold  us the plot is absconding aftr a threat to his life from the lady seller. this case was sorted out after many rounds and hearings of the court. now we have got the 7/12 also. however the plot is not marked. on enquiry we have been told that we need to contact the agent to know the exact location of the plot. doesn't the land record dept hav any records of the land sale deeds? how should i go about getting this plot marked. the land record dept is not co-operating at all. which the higher authority that i should contact to get the problem sorted out? also the plot was in three parts. of these two were in my name and one on my husbands name. my husband is no longer alive. i also need to get the plot transferred on my name. my two sons have given me a no objection certificate. on checking with the lawyer i was told that that i need to file a case again? why is that required when both my sons have no objection and are ready to give it in writing. please help and advice me on how to go about getting the land back.
