For Civil suits such provision has already been made. Vide Amendment Acts enforced with effect from 01.07.2002, provision has been made in Order XVII, Rule 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 that adjournment shall not be granted to a party for more than three times during hearing of the suit, .

Whatever is amended or is to be amended ahead on this side, is practicable to some extent. But this practice may cause injustice and multiplicity of appeals and revisions also.

Practically the amendment in CPC has expedited the decision of civil suits to certain extent.
