Rights of child of second wife

kindly tell, what do you mean by second wife ?

Dear Mr. Satya Prasad, Law does not recognise second wife.  Second wife has no legal rights as against the husband.  However, under Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act,  domestic relationship of a man and woman living together has been recognised by law.  Under this act, that woman even though she is a second wife, her rights as far as maintenance to herself and her children are protected.  Children of second wife are treated as legitimate children of the man as if they are born from the legally wedded wife of the man.  If you need any more information, please write to ddkharpudikar@indiatimes.com.  Regards.
