File an application before the concerned authorities( CTS) to verify it and it can be renumbered.

In your purchase file you will find extract of the Property check the no mentioned in extract, also check the boundaries of the house, and if there is some mistake you can register rectification deed.

u check a plan pass copy of your unit / flat and as per plan pass what is your flat number check it. But first u check all papers / documents of the property and then any doubt u contact concerned authority for that.

Corporation / Urban department who has plan pass.

If I go for correction deed, what about all the link documents. Still the link documents refers to the old number only right? will it not be a problem?

In Taminadu also  the Government has  given two door numbers such as old number and new number  which leads to all very much confused.  I had a very bad experiance in Chennai, KOTTIVAKKAM area all residnces are having four numbers.  To be frank the Government changing the street names, giving  new door numbers,  changing   locality ward numbers does not  serve any purpose instead of giving lot of problems in property documents. Why the Government does not realise this, I can't understand.
