my father passed away in 2018.

I was not living with my father but gave him monthly maintenance.

In the will he wrote about the distribution of cash and bank balance among brothers and sisters

the elder brother collected money from bank with my brother in laws.

how can I get to know how much bank balance did my father had.

I know only one bank in which he had deposits

Is there any other way to know about his other Bank details ??

Ask your mother or your father's friends or you have to put an application to all the banks about your father's bank deposits using RTI.

You can obtain WILL copy wherein the bank balances details available

If you are having certified copy of will, you can issue a notice to your elder brother to provide copy of the will.

Believe me, you are not entitled to get any information in the deceased's  Bank account unless you are a nominee or client under RTI.

Still, you can file an online RTI Application if the bank is PSU and seek information as follows:

Information solicited:

1. Please provide me the certified copies of all the public documents received in claim settlement based on which the death claim of late Shri..........................was settled.  I am his son and enclosing a self-attested copy of AADHAR disclosing the name of my father the deceased depositor..
