If this is a stupid query, pls bear with me!
I have read that it is possible to get a divorce if one of the partners in marriage renounces life and becomes a Sanyasin. Could the experts of this forum kindly advise me on the specific aspects of this matter?
My query is general, but as a subquery, I'm also interested in how this could be applicable for someone spiritually oriented but (falsely) charged under 498a/DVA to release himself from the bonds of marriage and lead a life of his choice.

Well, if one become a sanyasin- he cannot get divorce, in fact he doesnot need a divorce. Off course the other party can get divorce, if he or she chooses.
Regarding effect on pending proceeding under Section 498A, it will have any effect on that proceeding. I think, in any case for a sanyasin no proceeding should matter. He leaves himself completely in the hand of the almighty.
