Divorce mediation and nri status

1. Is it mandatory for mediation in divorce cases? Or can I file for no reconciliation at the start itself?

2. What are the consequences if petitioner does not appear in court 80% or more times?

3. I got H1B after I filed for divorce, now I am not able to attend my hearings. Can I send letter of absence for mediations?

4. What happens now when I get nri status?

Thank you.

1. It has been mandated by supreme court to conduct counselling in the beginning of divorce proceedings

2. The court may decide to dismiss the petition if the petitioner shows no interest to prosecute the case.

,3. No, the court would insist on your physical presence before mediation.

4. You have filed the case hence it is you who have to decide, the court will proceed as per law on all such further issues.

Thank you, respected sir.

Can I attend my hearings online? Or what is the process for nri status?

There's a new ruling by supreme court that the trial court can conduct the case by virtual mode too.

Therefore you can arrange to attend the hearing by virtual mode from wherever you are under the guidance of your advocate
