Excess alimony demanded

Hello Learned Lawyers,

Hope you all are doing well.

I come to you as a Husband who has been duped into marriage and is now being asked for an outrageous amount of Alimony.

Respectfully, I am an employee in an IT company and my family is made up of me, My Parents and my Elder Sister (Already Married).

My family were looking for a Working lady and we got in touch with a bride who was working as a freelancer Content Writer through a Matrimony App and after meeting the bride and her family a few times, we got married.

However, soon after Marriage I realized that things were not as smooth as they were made out to be.

First, we could never establish Conjugal relationship. She always tried to avoid the topic and even when we tried she would make medical excuses. We visited a s*xologist but he said things appear to be normal and there should not be any hiccups.
Secondly, she would occasionally get up in the middle of the night and will start beating me or furiously shake me up. We took her to a doctor who suggested Psych Evaluation of hers. Also, we had to get 11 of her teeth treated and the dentist suggested that all her teeth would need a restructuring at some point of time. Lastly, when we accidentally found that she was keeping 2 bags full of prescribed medicines for Diabetes she falsely claimed that she and her family had already informed us that she is a pre-diabetic, while no mention of this had been made up to said event in actuality. When she refused to show us a prescripttion of the said medicines we had no option but to send her back to her home after discussing with her Family.

We did not get any word from her or her family for the next 3 months and decided to initiate Annulment of the marriage as we had been defrauded in this case.

However, the bride and her family are now asking for an alimony of INR 15 Lakhs and claiming she is no longer employed. The mentioned amount is impossible for me to pay. What are my options here ?

Marriage cannot be annulled for this reason.

You can file a divorce case on the grounds of cruelty for suppressing the fact of her chronic illness.

If the amount is negotiable you can go for mutual consent divorce also
