Filinga partition suit- chennai

sir, i want to file a partition suit on one of our ancestral residential properties for which my father is entitled to get a share that is currently being full enjoyed by his younger brother.my father is no more now and he has no self acquired property when he passed away.so, there is currently no financial support for my mother. now..can i file a case asking for the partition suit inorder to get a financial support for my mother.we are a hindu family. in that case, does the case to be filed by me on my mother's behalf or should be by my mother ..i want to see if the above point makes the case stronger..especially if my mother's shows that she is financially dependent on this partition suit.
