Foreigner's issue

Sir

I am Canadian National inherited two flats in Kolkata as my family inheritance.

Recently a part of our ancestral home was bought over by a gentleman who wants to throw me out using his force. He has gone to court and filed false cases against me. He locks up the gates and does not let me in the house. He feels the house belongs to him and I am an outsider.  He had instituted the cases to make me run from Canada to Kolkata to harass me. He also threatens that he would file more cases in various courts around India. I am an elderly person and need help and guidance from experts. .

Now I have a question. Can an Indian National go to court and file cases against a foreign citizen? What remedy can I pursue here in India.

Thanks for the help.

if it is all false cases, why to worry and defend it with your facts..he can file cases against a foreigner but again need more facts here.
more info needed.. you mentioned bought over..and then thrown out..did he actually buy it from you?.is the gentlemen that you are talking about is a family member that also has right of share on the property.?

.so many puzzles here.
