Getting divorce with American citizen ?

hi,

My friend got married with American citizen while she was in America,six months ago,she came back to India and now she wanna get divorce..i wanna know can her husband get divorce without her presence on the court,how long it will take for him to get divorce over there..My friend would like to apply from here but i need to know how she can do that and how long it would take to get divorce if she applies?
