Group civil suit against errant builder

Hi,

I,along with scores of investors are filing a group civil suit against Aishwarya Projects-Bangalore who have duped all of us to the tune of crores of rupees (collectively). We have appointed a lawyer who is going to fight the case. We have been asked to give our original sale agreements and other papers to him for deposit in safe custody of the honorable court and asked to pay an initial amount of Rs. 4000 towards court and other charges. Since I reside in Mumbai, i intend to give a special power of attorney to my cousin in Bangalore for this.

The initial amount i paid for the land and which i wish to recover is Rs. 1,67,000/- paid in 2006.

My question is:Once i hand over my originals to the laywer for depositing in safe custody of the court and start making payments thru DD or other means  to him and going ahead,i realise that this amount is going higher than a certain amount (say Rs. 50,000 or so) and i want to opt out of the suit, is that possible? And will i get my original documents back?what would be the process for the same?

I seek your urgent reply and advice.

Thanks,

Sushant

please clarify this  start making payments thru DD or other means to him and going ahead,i realise that this amount is going higher than a certain amount (say Rs. 50,000 or so) and i want to opt out of the suit, clearly. I am not in position to understand it.

is the suit at evidence stage ? if it is at evidence than the documents are needed.

yes, the original documents are given back.
